Suicide Doors

Anyone done this to your NSX? The only reason I would consider it is because the NSX is a super car and I am tired of having to open the doors like a regular vehicle.

I heard from a few people though that it would only be good for car shows and after awhile it would end up either breaking or something going wrong, but I guess if you had the right install and hardware there really shouldn't be a problem?

ahhhh your right I made an error, lol...Scissor doors is what the title of the thread should be. I don't plan on doing this but had thought about it.

Do a search for Lambo doors and you'll get several threads on this topic. Most of us would advise against it. Why? Seach and you will find. :smile:

Yeah I think this is what you meant, right? The Lambo "jackknife" doors are actually necessary on cars like the Countach - it's not just an aesthetic thing. The cars are so wide that regular doors would be hard to open in a confined parking space. The NSX isn't nearly as wide, so the funky doors aren't necessary.

IMO it would cheapen an NSX to bastardize the doors this way, unless you're going for a cost-no-object, wild custom show car.

Good to hear. They are called Lamborghini doors because they are made for Lamborghinis.

No it wouldn't. The NSX has its own identity. It doesn't need to steal design concepts from other car makers.

Keep this in mind though. If you do chop up your car and put Lambo doors, you just lost a lot of value in the car. The closer it is to stock the more it will be worth and the market for a potential buyer is much larger. If you plan on keeping it forever and dont mind, then no worries. I would be particularly concerned with how well the windows would seal out the rain. As it is NSX's dont have the best window seal. I cant see it getting any better by changing the way the door opens or closes.

Haha, I love it. Proof positive that Lambo doors have outlived their "coolness". Unfortunately, no one bothered to tell the tuners. :redface:
