(quoted, major stoner)..I don't have a clue as to how to get sponsorship, or whom to approach. I have been following your posts and
progress. I believe that you have had some sponsors for some time, so I have to wonder why it took so long to
post a link to some pictures. (I understand an artist and his work in progress...)
Perhaps you might try putting up a website, mynsx.com. I think you could reach some people, and the name is
easy to remember once the car show crowd goes home. You have two thousand people here at this site alone,
if each told two friends, and they told two friends...you have enough traffic to get a couple of banner ads.
I am sure that you have the story of your car down cold after BS'ing with all the car show judges, so why not
put it in writing and share your experiences with the world? I dig that scoop/snorkle, and I wouldn't mind
finding out where I can buy one or get one made. Explain why you did a color change to a factory color or why
you have the checkered flags next to NSX on the dashboard. Would you paint it for a sponsor? What are your
motivations in more depth? Did you ever figure out the CAMP system? People like me want to know the pros
and cons of mods. I have been documenting all the changes to my car, and it is a good way to keep track of
all your suppliers.
I suggest a professional quality photoshoot once you are satisfied with the car. Seems like a place to start for
a website or press kit. Do you do this for fun/profit? Are there enough shows to sustain your interest long term
or is this something you are offering in exchange for discount parts?
You have been very tasteful in your car design, and it looks good with a lot of mods, not something everyone
has been capable of, IMO. Just like the guy that did a porn movie for some free cocaine, I think you could be
really big in Japan. The only problem I think is with the popularity of the NSX, the customer base is small.
Would you have been better off with a more popular car?
With all the different surfaces your car has, car care products come to mind. I know I wouldn't mind getting
the parts to drive around the country demoing a supercharger system. I just can't seem to think of a way of
getting any big name sponsorship, or making enough money on the car show circut to sustain an ultra-exotic,
but you know alot more about that than I do.
WOW THATS A MOUTHFUL!!LOL
I'll try to answer you.the reason for so long to post pics is (dependance on other peoples showing up),I,m currently picture download illiterate, and running a 24 hour business during an expansion. It's a lot of coordinating to even get the mod's done (even w/ the money)for instance 6 months worth of planning come together in 2 weeks of labor.Parts coming sometimes on the slow boat from Bankok etc.etc.
Yes at the back page of my business website we are developing a seperate page for MYNSX.
I just had my friend/carbon fiber guy do a photo shoot today and will post the pics on his business website.I also will be in the website/advertising ad in turbo-tuner magazine (or something like that)on my friend Allens ad's he's placing.
I am also having business cards/post card posters and small posters made up for car shows we go to and sponsor proposal packets prepaired for the major players that show interest.
I did the body off color change for shock value and yellow sells for me.I have 3 yellow cars. And had another (that was the drag car) which we tore down.I love the factory spa pearl but at the time I couldn't afford a 97+' NSX.(no regrets)
As far as a more popular car is a more common car.It is very hard to compete in my class there are only a few local major players and half the time I wind up with either exotic class or best of show etc.
My company "is" the major sponsor currently sure I get discounts here and there and some times get pushed to the front of the line(which I appreciate)"but" I know the car can support a company if I could find a company who know's how to market.
I am going to the shows any way and I've got 12k left in mod's then I'm done "really I'll stop".
I would seriously concider a sound system "if" it were funded by a major sponsor.
Thats parts and labor (not discounts)
I'm finding it's much like my business and I agressivly must market the product.Thats why I'm asking for any input I can find...
Thanks MYNSX
