Ok, I have a brooklands green NSX that is stock but will soon have Eibach+Koni suspension. I really like the racy look of sports cars over the flashy shiny look. I know that my green NSX isn't really that racy looking, but I think after lowering it a little more 1.25", it will look pretty agressive. I currently have '94+ powerder coated silver rims, but I think if I either powder coated the rims white or charcoal (like some Mclaren F1s) the car would look very racy. In what ways would you make a Green/Tan NSX look more racy?

First, put some big numbers on the door's. Then stickers all over the sides, but particularly behind the front wheels. Finally, find yourself a sponsor, in your case I would talk to simple green - plaster their name all over your hood.

Then have all your neighbors with beer bellies put their lawn chairs in front of their houses, bbq and swill beer, while you drive around the block only making left hand turns.

What will you have made? The first import NECKCAR , err... NASCAR participant.

JUST KIDDING GUYS

well, if you REALLY want to make the car look racy, you could trade it in on a red, yellow or blue NSX...But, speaking of as the owner of a Green/Tan, I think you can achieve the appearance you're looking for through (1) lowering; (2a) new rims; (2b) polished or chrome 94+ rims; (3) new exhaust; and/or (4) Big Ass Wing.

This oughtta give you that 'racy' look that you long for.

FWIW: I would avoid white wheels on the green car in general, but the darker charcoal (a la the McLarens) sounds fun. I always did like the way the 94-96 cars had the 'darker' paint on their 7-spokes, though i know a lot of folks who do not care for it.

Also, keep your car as clean as possible. Nothing spoils an appearance like dirt.

A guy in my little town painted his Civic Imola Orange Pearl, he powder coated his rims flat black, now that looked racy. Flat black or flat charcoal would look really good on a dark green car like yours. My $.02

Purevil, exactly, the flat charcoal color. I photoshoped some pictures of my NSX with that look, but it kinda made my car look really cheapo hacked up. Then again, the car is not lowered yet. I am hoping to have the springs+shocks+sway bars installed next weekend, so maybe it'll help me picture how it would look when its actually done. I've never seen a lowered green NSX yet. I also am considering getting the Finstar DTM exhaust. Does anyone have the DTM version of Dali Racing's Finstar exhaust? Regarding putting stickers on it... I am currently sponsered by GranTurismo.com (my site :P). I have GRANTURISMO.COM accross the front winshield right now... its kinda cheesy, but at least people can see it. I hate to spoil the stock style and I'm not big into the ricy style either... I just want a modest aggressive looking car. The mega wing would look tacky unless I could prove I needed it at the track... which I doubt I do. I'd rather get Brembo brakes before that. I'm not a great driver yet, but I hope to become one over time.

Thanks guys for your opinions.

I was just thinking about something. Powder coating is more resistant to rock chips right? You can make powder coating glossy like paint right? Then I COULD powder coat my front bumper on my suburban so I don't have to worry about rock chips right??? Can you powder coat stuff smooth like glass? I may have to call some people and find out.

I think powder coating the side scoop vents silver like the wheels, remove the engine cover and shiny it up ( Dali ) Racing seats with red seat belts. Lower it. It's British racing green. Send a photo when you're done.

I have black Speedline wheels (similar to those on the F50 GTR) on my silver NSX and love the way it looks - more serious "racing" than chromed show queen in my opinion. Several of my friends with Supras have powder coated their wheels charcoal (often leaving the outer rim chrome as this is the spot most prone to chipping) and they look fantastic.

Powder coating is a low cost option to buying beautiful expensive chrome wheels, so if you don't like it you haven't wasted much money.

Sadly no, I do not have any pictures right now. Maybe I can rectify that this weekend and post one for ya'. I guess I have just been putting it off because I want to paint my calipers and front hubs. Alas, apartment life leaves me with no where to easily do it.
