My left headlight bulb burned out.....I haven't gotten the manual yet (Calvin:p ), where can I get the replacement bulb? Is it a regular Honda/Acura bulb?

And how do you replace it? I can't figure out which screws to undo, what steps to take....Never rreplaced a pop headlight before....Thanks!:)

OEM bulbs are available at local auto parts store. But for just a few more dollars, you can upgrade to slightly better bulbs. I'm looking into the SilverStars myself. Wal-Mart has them for $20/bulb.

As for replacing them, it's a PITA the first time doing it. It's just screws holding the cover. The hard part is getting your hands in the small space and removing the clip that holds the bulb in place.

Thanks Joel. Do you know which screws I have to remove? I noticed that there were two screws on the side facing the side of the car, and one facing the inside (Acura logo on nose).....Are those the ones I remove, or do I pop the hood and go from behind?

Thanks again!

Pop your hood.
Then there are screws on the sides of the cover you remove.
Carefully take out the headlight cover making sure you don't scratch the bumper (in fact, put a towel on the bumper in front of the headlight to make sure of this).

Once you have the cover out, you can reach in the back for the bulb. My preference is to unscew the entire headlight casing off the brackets, lift it and unplug the wire connected to the bulb. From there, unscrew the clip that holds the bulb (counterclockwise). Remove the bulb. Go in reverse to put everything back.

Make sure you don't touch the new bulb and leave any fingerprints on it. I'd wash my hands thoroughly first.

Just a comment on the silverstar bulbs. I used them in my Odyssey and one side lasted 3 months and the other lasted 4 months. I'll never use them again.

yeah I know....I had them on my prelude and the burned out in about 4-5 months....I just picked up some regular bulbs. $8....if it sucks, no big loss....

I suggest that you purchase a pair of lint free cotton gloves (the kind museum curators use). If you touch the bulb with your fingers even after washing thoroughly, you run the risk of skin oil contamination and therefore an early demise for the new bulb.
