ok let me put this in a nut shell cause i'am in a hurry..

basically the piece in the middle of the spring needs to be replaced cause its leaking oil?
is that the strut or shock?

if i order them form daliracing, could I get a mechanic friend to put it on for me just like any car, or is there a special way we have to put on these shocks?

thanks for your time

Compared to most other Honda cars I've seen, there's nothing really special about an NSX as far as changing the shocks go. Even a novice (like myself) was able to do it myself (which the assistance of a friend to push down on the suspension).

There's some good info here: http://www.nsxsc.com/html/article13.html, if your buddy needs some help.

EDIT: Corrected a screwed-up URL.

If you know what you are doing, it is not a big job.

Your mechanic friend should be able to do it for you.

So, does the NSX need shocks in the front or struts in the front?

which is required?

sorry, I'm kind of clueless on somethings..

can you go into further detail science of speed?

ok I know the strut is the upper part, and shocks is the lower part of the suspension.

Which one does the NSX use for the front? I'm guessing your saying shocks?

All I know is that my oil is leaking on the right side of the shock/strut..

BTW thanks for putting up with my non-sense lol

The NSX does not have struts. The NSX suspension consists of the forged upper and lower rear control arms, uprights, upper mounts, springs, and shock absorbers.

Your shocks are likely worn, and leaking oil past the piston seals. It's time to replace them. You can buy the individual shocks from any Acura dealer.

According to the Technical Information and Development History book, the NSX front suspension includes a compliance pivot which they refer to as a "strut" or a "compliance strut"...

True, I stand corrected. Although, strut in that context has a different meaning. My answer was in scope of the question. The NSX does not use struts for shock dampening as on other vehicles.

Chris is 100% correct. Here is an illustration of the difference. The pair on top are struts. The pair on the bottom are shocks. The NSX uses shocks.
