Streets of Willow 9/26

im waiting for my supervisor to come in to see if i can have that day off.

i already invited few of my friends and they might be rolling with me.

is this a timed event? i never been to a real track before. are they chargin $40 for your car to be time?

i see i see.. damn, more cash.. that could be my gas money right there. may be ill just ride this time and come back again next month and rent the timer...

i got crappy street tires. im using Dunlop 800 or 8000..

what tires you riding on nimbus? probably slicks, huh?

nimbus you think it would be ok to drive my car out there about 3 hour drive then track it. then drive it back home. i got about 75% thread left on my tires..

this hobby is kickin my wallet's ass. it didn't know it could be this flat. hahhaha..

but i remember when i was still livin in the philippines and i would wake up early on saturday morning so i can just watch the touring race in the PI...

I'll just be running street tires.

Your 75% thread tires are definitely fine for driving to/from the track along with the track miles. Nothing to worry about in the tire department.

I've already asked my friend if you could come, since you would make time for track. Unfortunately he said no. He'll be driving a 700hp Skyline. I’ll take pictures.

well i found out i am i assigned to give training next Friday and on top of that we are getting trained by a contractor on new software we are using for our database..

boss said we'll play it by ear.

but im already planning for the Oct event at the same track..

you gonna be there again nimbus?

10-1-03 Buttonwillow is a private event. Any autox event coming up in late Oct & Nov? I try to go to the track or autox once a month.

What prep do you usually do for the X to get it track worthy. Is cooling an issue with a 91 NSX?

Also If any of you manage to drift the X.

This 91 is out of the snap ring range but do you think NSX tranny is weaker than most other tranny? for track use?

I run at willow and participate at Drift Days with my IS300. My mods are tein coilover, sways and STB. also header and better intake. It is a fun car but the WRX's and S2000's are just kicking butt at willow events.

redline event

Aaron,
How was this event? I'm planning to register for the 10/24 track day. Is this event similar to speedventures?

The usual pre-track inspection and preparation is fine, see here: http://www.nsxprime.com/FAQ/Track/trackpreparation.htm
Make sure your car is up to date on all the routine maintenance. A healthy NSX should have no cooling issues.

Drifting is mostly for show, it is not a fast way to go around the track. If you must drift, the NSX is a difficult car for the task due to its mid-engine balance.

Stock NSX tranny is pretty durable, even for track use. Drag racing is another issue.

With your mods on your IS300, keeping up with stock WRXs shouldn't be a big problem.

See you at the tracks soon. :)

Redline events are pretty relaxed and plenty of track time. Very similar to Speedventures. I might be doing the 24th as well, I'll decide after NSXPO.
