Same with me, except one of the cops asked me for a ride!
I had a client in a small town south of Brussels, near Tubize and Braine le Chateau, these cops had seen me numerous times driving “sportily” it turns out.
One time they just happen to merge behind me, later when there was sufficient parking room, they pulled me over.
Asked to see ID etc, hardly even looked at it, they asked me if I was in a hurry. I said no, I always drive like that, the NSX is a very competent car.
One of the cops confessed that his partner was a car freak and could he see the engine he said, if I wasn’t in a hurry?
Sure I said, and then he subtlety asked if I could take his buddy for a ride. He told me his buddy was too polite to ask himself.
Sure, hop in. When he got in I noticed his gun belt didn’t fit very well into the seat…keep that in mind next time a cop wants a ride!
I took off quickly, his partner trying to follow, we raced for a while. Was a twisting road and he asked what it could do. We ended up going about 120kph through the twisty 70 zone.
He was smiling all the way, It was his first time in an NSX he said. He said he loved the sound.
Later in the traffic, his partner caught us and hit the blue lights, I pulled over and he said they had to go because they got a call about a fight somewhere. Shook my hand and said thanks.
That is the second time I have been pulled over here in 10 years, the first time was for going too slow on the motorway (I was pulling a trailer), no ticket then also...
I have also seen a cop drive up to a place where kids are racing their cars, in the outskirts. After checking things out for a minute or so and telling some of them to be careful and have fun, they calmly drove away. That was cool and seemed to make a good impression on the kids.
