strange noise in the back...

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else already. But my 94' has been making this clicking noise for a while, only comes on when I'm cruisng very slow at 5-10 miles an hour in 1st gear....doesn't do anything else, as soon as I step on the gas and rev it up, it's done, any ideas? Thanks in advance:smile:

That's a tough one to diagnose. Since it only happens at very slow speeds try driving with the engine hatch open and have someone walk briskly next to car to try and pinpoint the noise. At least you'll be able to find out if it's in the engine bay or possibly in the suspension or tranny.

Hugh has the right idea; most likely something simple...

check the tire tread for stuck objects...it could be a stone that is making the noise

did you recently remove the wheels...maybe a lug nut is loose

look for foreign objects stuck under the car

maybe something came loose and is coming in contact with a belt

I have similiar 'clicking' or barely audible 'clunking' noise. Tried to find it but no joy yet. Anybody had this problem?

I really can't say mine is clunking, it's really more like a click...
