After another long week at work, I decided to take some time to literally stop and smell (and shoot) the roses. Tony D had the same idea and we ended up pulling in to the Botanical Gardens at the same time not knowing the other one was going today. Here are a few shots before we switch gears, no pun intended, and shoot some NSXs at NSXStock tomorrow.

Thanks Bob, You've got great talent! See you at NSXPO, Gil

Great shots as usual, all except the one of Tony!! National Geographic quality!

Nice work. Where did you find the nest? thats really cool.

The nest was built into the trellis behind one of the climbing rose bushes.

That is an incredibly well-built and perfectly round nest. I never noticed that before. Those little birds do a better job than a human can do with tons of practice. Great picture. I don't know how you got them to pose... was your wife holding a worm over the nest?

Actually I noticed the nest because the mother had landed with a worm but got scared off because I was nearby. The babies were ready to eat and I think the shadow of my holding the camera overhead caused them to react by "sitting up" with their mouths open.
