I have XM radio in my daily driver (vw passat) and was thinking of adding it to my nsx as well and I wanted run some ideas past you guys. I would like the car to stay a stock as possible. I was thining of buying the pioneer unit, same as I have in the passat, and the tek ant. I was going to mount the main unit in the trunk, place the ant. under the back glass over the engine. The problems that I am running into are as follows. 1 I would like the stock ant. to stay down while XM is in use and
2 I would like to have the control mounted with in easy reach without messing up the interior.

I was thining about trying to hook the xm power thru the smart antenna thing that I got from Dali. Has anyone tried this?

Also I was thinking about removing the lighter and ash tray stuff and then mounting a piece of plastic behind the ash tray door with a hole cut in it for the XM wired remote. Is the ash tray and lighter removable? or should I just place the remote in the center console??

thanks

I believe the Smartenna won't work this way. The Smartenna lowers the antenna when the CD player is in use; it leaves it up when the stereo is on and the CD player is not in use. You'll have to wire a switch directly into the power antenna instead.
