Hi everyone,

Finally got a chance to have some fun at the drag strip and would like to share my experience with everyone. Okay not completely stock but almost. My car is a 91 with 135k miles. Only mod is a old-skool Comptech exhaust.

My 2 best time:

60 ft: 2.178
1/4: 13.622
Mph: 108.135

60 ft: 2.209
1/4: 13.603
Mph: 108.414

Sorry for the second Time-slip. I can't get it to scan out any better.

Cool!

We had almost identical results:
http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=104285

'92 NSX with ~110k miles
60': 2.3 seconds
1/4 Mile: 13.6 seconds
1/4 Mile Trap Speed: 109.4 MPH

Mine was stock (OEM wheels, exhaust, etc). I would love to take it back to the track now that I've shed a few hundred pounds as well as added headers and exhaust.

Not bad at all for an old, little N/A V6 is it?

Whoa, now that's some awesome trap speed. Yeah not bad for a v6 w/ 100k+ miles. If you ever take it back out. Please provide some updates!

Which tires are you running on? Was just about to head up to the 1320 this month but my clutch went on me, probably wont make it before season closes :frown:

Nice runs Thahn! Just goes to show that the NSX doesn't get tired even with well over 100K miles on the clock.

Not to be a dick but trap speeds of 108/109 are not likely with a stock 90's nsx.

Car and driver and road and track had speeds of 99-101s=ish.

Post photo's of your slips or go away.

Have a rough day KooKoo?

Two folks post almost identical times, one even had a link to the original thread (that had timeslips at one point), and that's your response?

Dave

Thanhnsx:

That's some great times and I'm sure everyone was impressed

I was running Kumho Ecsta MX's that pretty much suck when wet. There was no way around the waterbox, and my rear air pressure was too high. I had to launch around ~1250 RPM's and feather the throttle to avoid spinning too.

Since my one and only trip to the dragstrip (in the NSX of course), I've gone a little crazy and removed:

A/C
ABS, TCS, speed sensors, and computers
Cruise Control
Replaced rear divider glass with Lexan
Rear firewall sound deadening
Everything in the trunk
Rear sway bar (because I like the handling and it gave a lot of possibilities for turbo/exhaust)
OEM manifolds, cats, and muffler replaced with a lightweight custom setup
Rear bumper beam

Once I get my exhaust finalized, and it cools down a little bit, I would love to go back! I was pretty abusive on the powertrain for the two runs I made, and kinda flt bad later. But she held up fine and there were no fluids on the garage floor the next morning

Oh, one thing I did do back then was run the equivalent of 97octane fuel. Not too high to actually inhibit combustion and energy, but just enough to take advantage of some timing advance (it felt like) in the stock ECU.

I should of post it up from the beginning. Sorry everyone. First post has been updated with time-slip.

I did zero burnouts the whole night. I did not want to wear my tire out. I went around the wet box.

I was launching at 4k+ and had to feather it out as well. But I made sure the rpms never drop.

Thats alot of weight reduction you got there. possibilities for turbo? now thats the spirit!
