I contacted Ross (Stmpo) a few weeks ago about possibly building a custom Strut Tower Brace. He was immediately on board. We agreed on a design and he sent me a CAD drawing within a few hours. I was amazed how totally up front he is, funny dude to talk with.

Anyhow, I finally got to drive it this morning. Pretty amazing how a well designed brace will stiffen up the chassis and cure squeaks. I'm more of a drag racer so I'm not hip on the road racing terms but seat of the pants feels much improved. I'm very happy.

ONLY 5 LBS!

1.20 wall 1 ½ inch round aluminum tubing.

$750 shipped.

I have this part on my car and highly recommend to targa owners.

I believe someone with a coupe mounted one and had to drill/tap into the firewall, since of course, coupes don't have the two threaded holes for an OEM targa brace.

Call Ross and ask him about it

Yours is Chromoly and mine is Aluminum. From what Ross told me, I'm the only one with the updated Aluminum one.

That can be modified to fit nontarga. If you look at the last pic, the part that bolts to the firewall. If Ross welds a small plate on the top like he has on the bottom, then you'll remove the rubber strip that seals the engine cover. It can then be bolted directly to the part were the rubber seal was by drilling 2 holes. I did this with a comtech targa brace. Looks factory. That is a nice bar BTW.

I think it's safe to say this is the lightest bar on the market.

I think a nice touch would be offering different anodized colors. Since it's alum. it can be done. Whatayathink Ross?
