That is correct…. Our Coolant Tank comes with a lifetime Warranty and we went through the stress testing to justify it!

This is the only offering of CNC’ed top and bottom tank ends on the market… machined tops and bottoms allow for the weld to be relieved of the stress… the reason why other tanks have cracked over time.



The second location that see' the highest stress during start up and driving conditions is the vertical corners.



We did a production run of 10 tanks.. 3 have been spoken for so far. We do not plan to make these again!

We have 2 left in brushed and the other 5 will be back from powder coat this week… Color – Krinkle Black

We did not include a site glass for the tank as we feel it is completely unnecessary based on the common known characteristics of the car. We placed a value of longevity over coolant level site glass for the reasons below.

It is my opinion... based on over 8 years ownership and many services done considering the 5 NSX's that I have... That the NSX cooling system is completely overkill for what the car needs.

Once the water system is correct... it does not fail. During the burping process with an overflow tank open... filling to the correct level by eye... I have never once found myself low on coolant without a noticeable leak.

i know that a sight glass weekens the whole thing.... lot's of owners complained of it in tha past... i was just asking because coolant level is one of the things that freeks me out, and i feel the need of see it regularly :tongue::tongue:

i will refresh all my coolant hoses and possible (if money allows) also the tank in the next maintenance, which is the 2nd big TB one.... i also want your STB (F AND R) but man...money ... money ... :frown: :frown: :frown:

Well... I take that want for our products as a huge compliment..

for what it's worth on this product... the coolant tank that will last forever.. we really really really wanted to make this and make it so we can profit... were not sure we can because this run is a break even at this price... these will most likely be the only 10 ever made due to huge costs to build them.

Let me just say I love all STMPO products. With that said, I do have a concern about a coolant tank that is so "bulletproof". The cooling system in the NSX is filled with many different weak points, joints, bends, parts, etc... most of them are super hard to get to or more expensive to replace than the reservoir. If I wanted to have a single weak point of failure, i'd rather have the reservoir go than say the radiator or a coolant hose somewhere. I think of it like a fuse. I don't know.. maybe i'm crazy.

Thoughts?

Your absolutly correct... There are many weak points... But the stock tank is so ugly.. even the JDM "rubber cover" doesnt fix that problem.. The "last a lifetime" reference was reffering to the other AM tanks on the market that resemble the stock shape.

To correct the SOS statements on their description... it's not the only tank with an internal baffle and it would need 4 baffles to mimic the OEM Tank.. and it's not the most advanced tank either. It is the most evolved over time... in the 3 years of design change... it still retains the same problem of the 2 tanks I bought that leaked.



I have been around this car for a long time... If you own this tank... IT WILL CRACK... If you buy one... it will crack... I gave one of my cracked tanks to the engineer for the stress models... you can even read his tesimonial in the pdf on the first post.


This is mathematics not other vendor part bashing... PSI is Pounds per square inch... the tank is approx 6x5 and 7 inches high. that is over 210 sq inchess to be conservative.



lets say the average psi level is 12 lbs... 12 lbs times 210 sq inches is 2520 lbs of load on the welds....

No aluminum welding rod has that load rating over time... when the thousands of pounds of pressure is spread.. it gets trapped at the corners and edges...

There is an AM replacement tank that will hold this pressure... it doesnt retain the stock shape though... honda didnt make anything in the engine bay round... so the feng shui of the factory styling goes away.



You also have to play Russian Credit Card rollette to get one.... if you do place an order there... pick up one of my favorate stickers...

Sight glass is silly. Since it's hidden under a cover and a potentially tinted glass hatch, if you're going to the trouble of opening up the glass hatch just to open engine cover anyways, just stick in a dry screwdriver till you get coolant on the end. Voila, level is known. Silly nsx owners lol
