Is there a reason why the steering wheel is slightly off center and to the right of the driver?

i never noticed the steering wheel off center to the right ..

this is strictly a guess.

getting in and out of the car would be easier..or maybe your right hand is closer to the shifter so when u shift it would be slightly faster to return hand to steering wheel...

Either you've whacked the front wheels pretty hard and knocked it off center or the last person who aligned the car was sloppy. Easily set straight during front alignment.

Is there a way to tighten up the steering column. If I tug to either side of the steering wheel, the whole column will move 1/4 of an inch. Doesn't do when I am driving though, but still annoying that I know it is there. Thanks.

To clarify:

1. Do you mean that the wheel is turned a bit to one side when the car is going straight, or:
2. Do you mean that the placement of the steering column seems to be to the right of your body?

Number 1 is an allignment issue and can easilly be adjusted.

Concerning number 2, I never noticed it. The steering column on my car appears to be placed naturally centered with my body and does not seem to be too far to the right.
