Hi guys,

I got a chance to drive NSXTasy's car this weekend. He has a 92 i have a 91. But his car steers like it has power steering.

I believe we both have the same size front tires. He says he has no power steering mod installed. I do know he has coilovers but I cant see those making it easier to steer.

Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Please explain a bit more. Does it feel like an EPS equipped NSX that has power assist at slow speeds or does it feel like a car with power steering at highway speeds? If its the latter, he might have very overinflated front tires.

You would be amazed at what a different brand/model of tires can do for your car.

**CHANGING NOTHING ELSE**

I was riding a set of Dunlop 9000's (nice tire) on my stock 16/17 OEM rims, but I couldn't find a replacement tire for one that went flat.

So I put on a set of Yoko A220's and the car *immediately* felt amazingly nimble and like I had installed power steering too.

I'm not sure it is worth the extra money, but the difference was quite REMARKABLE.

Exact same story here, after I dumped the 9000 sp's that came on my car for S-03's, it was night and day. I can park one handed now.

It feels like an nsx with power assist at slow speeds. Sitting still it takes both hands and a significant amount of effort to turn the tires on my car.

In his i could turn the wheels with one hand and only moderate amount of effort. Once the car is moving it takes almost no effort at all.

I dont think its the tires. I had s03 on mine before. Now I have sumitomos. While i could tell that the sumitomos were a bit easier to turn it would not equate to the difference in steering between our two cars.

Dewayne had driven his car prior to the coilovers. He said it wasnt until after the coilovers were installed that it became that easy to steer.

I would state that is PRECISELY what my car felt like after I changed out the tires.

Your results might be different, but mine were unbelieveable. I still don't believe it.

You running 215/45R16's on the fronts??

I was in the passenger side and felt the steering wheel ,with my left hand, when Coldhammer was driving. I told him he was dumb b/c it obviously had power steering. Now im the fool. It really was bizarre how easy it turned at 3-4 mph. He really has to have some power assist or something, like Hugh said.

I didn't say he had power assist, I asked if it "felt" like he did. I saw thats it's a 92 so the only power assist he could have been receiving would have been from your left fist.

(Sometimes I just kill myself!)

I dunno. It is definetely bizzare. I am waiting on his alignment specs to compare to mine. Perhaps something will show up there.

It could also be that a prior owner had a power steering mod done and he does not know about it. But I doubt that since Dewayne said the car didnt steer like that prior to the coilover mod.
