I just bought a 93 with 52000 miles and I noticed that there is a little play in the steering wheel. I saw some previous threads that suggested jacking up the front and trying to rock the wheels to see if there is any loseness, which I will do tomorrow. My question is: what is the fix if it is possible to rock the wheels? If they don't rock, what would be the next step?

I had to replace the tie rod ends on my '92 and it solved the problem. The soution could be that simple ( and probably that's what it is) or , obviously, it could be more complex, like problems w/i the steering rack itself. From what I've heard, worn tie rod ends are not that uncommon and, it's been stated on Prime that they can sometimes be shimmed rather than replaced. I think that Larry B may have posted that possible solution.
