Due to some bad luck I have to install a new cable reel which arrived today. It is locked on the left side. My question. Is it locked in neutral position (I guess) or do I have to go after the SM manual. You can call me chicken but I don't want to destroy one more again. :)

All Honda clockpsrings (or cable reels) come locked like that for shipping purposes. You can remove the lock and as long as the yellow mark is visible in the little yellow window on the lower left side, it's still centered. I've replaced one on a Legend and it wasn't too hard but I had the HELM FSM (Factory Service Manual) to help me out. IMO, if you're going to DIY, I'd try to lay hands on a FSM otherwise, I'd let a tech do it. Those things are too damn expensive to f@#k up because you're not sure of what you're doing.

had to do mine on my NSX, yes they come factory with the lock so it wont unwind during shipping. just unscrew the screw and remove it.

there is this little clear plastic window that the arm arrow is in and you need to make sure it lined up between the 2 yellow marks.

if the arrow thingy moves a little bit its ok just make sure it in the general area between the yellow marks

so yellow mark, then arrow in the middle, then yellow mark
