FYI, I was going to Amarillo this weekend and saw a ST going slow. I was on the money speed wise. Passed him up and then he pulled me over. I said to him, "I have a loaded pistol in my car and a CHL" and "you know that I was not speeding". He said that he pulled me over for no front license plate. went to his car for a bit. Asked me to get out of the car. Showed him to tell me where to put it (he didnt know there are some screw holes under the front there) and then we started BSing about my car. Handed me his nice little pad and asked me to sign.... a warning.. He did say that they are cracking down on that because of all of the ricers that are racing and causing trouble. just an FYI.. anyone else with something similar?

As a matter of fact, yeah. I got pulled over 2 weeks ago for the same thing by a VA State Trooper. Really pissed me off because I was on an exit ramp in rush hour bumper to bumper traffic, he happened to be on the shoulder, probably just waiting to make quota for the month & singled me out, pointed me to pull over. I played dumb & told him that my NSX never had a bracket (true)& that my NSX was just out of the body shop for front bumper repaint (true), & I'd have to order a bracket. On top of what I thought were excusable reasons, my plate was on display on the left corner of my dash! He treats me like a little kid & says, "Make sure you put on a front license you understand me?" Geesh! Went back to his car for 10 minutes & returned w/ a ticket for what he said was $25, true, but when I got home, I realized the fine schedule requires an additional $47 processing fee! Unbelievable. We have other worries here in Northern VA like catching a lunatic snipper! I guess he wanted to teach a "rich kid" in an exotic car a little lesson! Well he did, I'm not rich, but I can afford a Dali "Behind the Scenes" stealthy front plate bracket! Sorry to make a short story long!

Be careful. You don't want to get in an accident and have a thin metal license plate headed for your head.

Never drive with your plate on the dash as it is dangerous and it is not legal to have the plate there. The plate has to be somewhere on the front, I bet the code describes the location exactly.

Been pulled over twice b/c I don't have a front plate. Never given a ticket. Last weekend I was leaving a shopping mall on a Fri. night and I noticed some idiot passing in my rear view mirror over a double yellow stripe up a hill on a 4 lane road. It was dark and I couldn't tell whom it was. The car quickly pulled up beside me as I came to the next light which was red. When I looked over to my right I saw it was a cop car. These two guys in the car were eyeing my car and gave me a thumbs-up. Whats up w/that.

I probably would have told the cop about the concealed weapon as well, but I was under the impression that you were not compelled to do so. Maybe thats just the Florida concealed permit. Also, where the heck do you have room in your NSX? I can barely fit my registration and insurance papers in the glove compartment.

Sounds like those policemen were car guys. Good to have those kind on the force!

hey tom, those cops pulling you over were probably looking for a different black nsx, say, maybe a 91?

thanks for covering for me. i guess we now have a great excuse; "no officer, you were looking for that other black nsx running around here. THAT guy is a real maniac".

believe it or not, ive not yet been pulled over in KC, not even for the front plate.

Just hit the "reply with quote little thingy" and edit the text within the original post. I took out powered and also added a smiley from you post as an example above.
