"they're gonna think we're part of the rally right" hahaha.
Looks like a typical run to Super Car Sunday in SoCal (though without the police of course )
I have been on quite a few police escorted caravans too and those are quite fun. The officers have always been super cool and no stoplights FTW! Though it is annoying (and a safety risk) when people that are not part of the caravan try to jump in.
I was looking at this video again, i didnt see them doing anything outlandish or any more unsafe than the other motorists on the road.
speed limit was 65 and they didnt appear to be going much faster than regular traffic which was slowing down to watch them
I was talking about when non-participants jump in and have no idea where the caravan is going or the rules given before hand, etc
I believe there is a growing hatred for people that drive luxury and exotic cars. The general public likes to make assumptions and generalizations when they see you they've already made judgment on who is driving that type of car especially with the 1% 99% BS. Its a very disturbing trend. This story is all over the internet, and I'm seeing some really odd responses, including one where a poster suggests all should be tossed in jail, ticketed, have their cars seized, and be listed publicly for civil lawsuits for "endangerment" by everyone else on the freeway.
Yes folks, somewhere out there, right now there is a guy sitting on his balls at a poorly lit desk in front of a keyboard and monitor in a basement- His Mom made him his favorite- PB&J with the crusts cut off, and he still hates you that much.
Where was the police escort when we had 45 NSX's going up PCH earlier this year?......................
There was a police escort for NSXen at NSXPO 2002 -- nearly a hundred NSXen driving at 100 mph with CHP's blessing.
You mean NSXPO 2003, right? That was a total blast!! Loved it when the CHP bikes would go after and point at non-NSX gravy trainers, and force them out of the caravan.
It is indeed true that we had escorts at all of the above NSXPO events. And in Texas they sealed off entrances to the interstate to let the NSXs pass. But only in Florida did they put up a roadblock across the entire expressway to allow the NSX caravan to enter and proceed at high speed. And I have the photographs to prove it:We had an escort:
2002 - Texas - down to the Fort Worth Stockyards for group photo (including going down one way street the wrong way and sealing off a tourist attraction for 30 minutes) - morning rush hour on highway
2003 - California - from karting to dinner at speeds of over 100 mph - during evening rush hour
2006 - Florida - from the hotel to the Space Center - morning rush hour - Corvette tried to jump in and police pulled him over and made him wait a longggggggg time before letting him go on his way
