Question for you guys...
b4 mine, i've only tested a few others and hadnt really noticed. But I feel like I have to crank the starter longer then on normal cars.. Is that normal? Sometimes I feel like i'm grinding or overloading the starter but if i let go too early, the car won't start... Is this common, or just mine?

thanks
peter

I think it's normal. Sometimes my NSX takes a sec or two to catch. For example, starts right away from a cold start most of the times and then takes a brief moment when the car is warmed up.

Send it to the shop and ask the mechanic to clean the starter.

I noticed that when I first purchased the car back in June. Since then, what I do is leave the key in the "on" position until I hear the fuel pump has shut off (about 3 seconds) then crank it. Doing this I notice that the car fires quicker.

I was told the same thing about my car*.

When I try to start the car* after sitting for a week or so, it will crank a couple extra times. However, if I turn the key to the on position, as described above, and let the fuel pump build up pressure, it seems to start easier/quicker.

whew!! thanks guys, I thought it was just me. Its pretty subtle, and the only reason I stumbled across it was when I let go to early it wont turn over, and then when I tried it again it would not start right away.. Pretty embarrassing when your at a full gas station with all eyes on your car..
