Hi,

I'm considering the following wheel/tire setup for track use on my '91 NSX.

SSR type-C wheels
Front: 17x7.5 offset +40
Rear: 17x9.5 offset +40

Victoracer V700
Front: 225/45/17
Rear: 275/40/17

I would like to know if there may be a potential concern for rubbing with the above configuration. Currently, I'm running the stock suspension but I plan to upgrade to TEIN coilovers in the near future so I'm more concerned with rubbing once I will lower the ride height.

The Type-C also are avalable in a +32 offset in the 17x7.5 size (fronts). Would +32 offset be a better choice in the event I wish to upgrade to a big brake kit later on.

I run the ssr-c for track and recently went from yoko a032r 235/40/17,275/40/17 to pirelli pzero-c 225/45/17 same rear size.I have zanardi springs;only 6/10 inch drop. The front tire is so tall that we had to remove the fender liner and file and hammer the weld line at the back of the well to prevent tire rub.The 235/40 size is much better.Dont go too low on offset the tire will rub under the fender lip.

The TCS probably will not work with that configuration. I realize you probably turn it off on the track, but you should at least be aware of it.

The outer diameter of those front tires is 8.2 percent bigger than stock

and the rear is 3.2 percent bigger.

I would be careful about using front tires that are so much larger in diameter than stock; it just seems like it could really upset the suspension geometry, and thus the handling...
