Gang,
I've recently been trying to track down the cause of the squeek in the front end of my car, and I've discovered that it's the front left strut assembly. Has anybody run into this before? I'm trying to figure out how to fix it, but have no idea where to start...take it back apart and re-assemble? Replace a bushing? No clue.

BTW, these are new Bilsteins all around, set on the lower perch. I had an alignment this week thinking maybe the suspension was binding, but that didn't help (although the Type-S settings are really great!).

Ideas?

I would start with a simple nuts and bolts check to ensure everything is torqued to spec. and then do a test drive again to see if the sound repros. Simple process of elimination.

It could be anything from loose 14mm's causing clatter on the top of the shock tower to a loose swaybar end link to an inadequately torqued bolt to a noisy spring.

I have not replaced my NSX shocks, but I have done other Hondas.

Look at the replaced, OEM, shocks and see if there was a rubber washer that is glued in place to cushion where the coil spring seats. The new shock may not have had this cushion.

With the lowering of the ride height all of the suspension parts will now be working from a different starting point. Try removing the sway bar bushings, clean them and apply some silicone grease, Dow Corning DC-4 Compound. My wife's 93 Honda Accord gets this treatment once a year.

Sometimes these squeaks take time to find, be patient.

Brad
