Squeaky Steering

I'm hearing some squeaks when I turn the wheel... I'm guessing the steering rack needs to be lubricated? Is this easy / cheap to do? DIY? Thx!

ugh i hope i dont have to replace the entire rack!

This is still happening - its coming from behind the driver's side front wheel...... its hard to tell exactly what it is... Now I'm noticing a bit of slop in the steering motion itself... and you can feel some notchiness when you move the wheel from side to side..... I hope I dont have to replace the rack for this issue...

Check the wheel bearings and tie rods.

I would check the sway bar bushings and links. An auto parts store can set you up with a lube for those items.

Any conclusion on this? Similar problem here - '94 with electric steering.
