On my 1998 NSX. It's a squeaking sound. Don't know what the sound is. Sounds like it's definitely coming from driver's side, from the rear part of the car. Maybe from the suspension? Can anyone help!?
I'm guessing it could be from any number of things and nothings to say the same thing is causing the sound for both of us, but my car seems to have developed a squeak from the rear of the car recently too. Also only occures over bump, but not over all bumps. Happens kind of randomly. Do your have an aftermarket suspension on yours? I have Tein RAs on my car. I figured it was from them, but I'm not positive. I'll have to jack the car up and play with things when i get some time. Goodluck finding the problem.
My car does this as well with Koni/Eibach set up. It is very random and until I read this post I hadn't remembered. It can get annoying though. Wonder if there is a quick lube solution to this?
My car has always been very very quiet with not a sound at all.
However, since I have the TEIN I occasionally here a 'cloink'-sound now and then. Mostly when I hit a bump in the road, or, to be more specific, when the wheel descends from a bump in the road. My quess is, that with the TEIN, it's coming from the helper spring which is usually fully compressed when the wheel drops down. Just a quess though.

Perhaps you are hearing the nosie from the driver side when in actuality it may be echoing from the passenger side?
If so, Acura diagnosed this in July 1998 with a Service Bulletin SB B98-018 and called it Rear Pillar Creek coming from the area of the seat belt pocket.
The repairs are somewhat involved, need to removethe rear fender and after "massaging" the three welld spots to the rear edge of the panel, they recommend using a 1" square 6" to 10" long wooden block and a dead-blow hammer ........
