Springs to match with sway bars and konis?

Hello,

The car is a 92 with stock suspension. I bought
a set of yellow adjustable Koni shocks with coil
over sleeve. I am planning to add Dali track
sway bars (1" diameter, 300% stiffer than stock)
to the car. I need to get a set of springs to go
with the Koni. I would really appreciate some
suggestion on what is the spring rate (to match
the sway bars and Knois) should
I get for the front and rear. Also is it possible
to get the spring length such as no helper
spring is necessary? If so, what are the length
for the front and rear springs?

A great many many thanks!

I had fun with the zanardi springs and the koni shocks for almost 3 years, nice combo, only lowers the car about 1/2 inch. The HR springs are ok if you want the more lowered look for the street-1.5 inches but the shocks are not well suited to these;too much bumpsteer out back, and understeer up front if you are an agressive driver or plan on going to the track, imo.

DocJohn is right, Zanardis are the way to go. He suggested them to me last year and I have been extremely pleased ever since I installed them. This setup (with the Konis) is very well matched, car drives and handles incredibly:):)

I took off my Zanardis and went with the HRs for my Konis. I like the lowered look and have dialed out the understeer with alignment/sway adjust/shock adjust. I got the car back to pretty much neutral.

So....... I'll sell you my old Zanardi springs if you're interested in trying out that combination. They have about 8K on them.:D

Spring/Konis

Thanks all for replying.

Tank, do you mind post the exact detail of your set-up?

Tires size: front and rear

Sway bars: which model and manufacturer

Spring: F/R spring rates or is there only one choice for HR spring?

Shocks: I am assuming you have the yellow adjustable Koni?

Alightment spec:

Do you use helper spring?

What are you asking for Zanardi springs?

A great many many thanks.

Sorry for the delayed reaction, I've been out of town.

I'm running 225/40 17s up front and 275/45 17s in the rear.
Comptech sway bars front/rear
HR Sport springs (no choice in rate)
Yellow Konis
-3.0 degrees of camber front and rear
0.25 degrees of toe-in in the rear
No helpers

This works as a general set-up but each surface/track has different characteristics and adjustments would need to be made accordingly.

A great many thanks Tank. Even though there's no choice, do you happen to know what are the spring rates and length for the front and rear HR springs? What is your price for the Zanardi springs? Thanks again.

There's a nice writeup about the different spring rates in the FAQ.

BTW: You can order every spring rate and length you like from Eibach and H&R - just look at their websites under race or motorsports.
