Anyone here really into it? Or at least shooting casually?
I would love to hear what type of gun you are using and enjoying.
Thanks
Len

My 13 year old son loves to shoot skeet. I take him to a local club that has sporting clays, skeet and trap. He is also a big duck hunter so the skeet helps him stay sharp for the ducks.

Right now he's shooting a 12 gauge Reminton 11-87. This is likely to change by the spring because I made the mistake of telling him that I'd buy him a Benelli when he shot a round of skeet and didn't miss any.

I'm not much of a shot so I just bring my digital camera.

We enjoy the time we spend at the range.

Len,

I don't shoot shotgun much anymore in the tradition sense, but when I was a kid, I used a Remington 1100 with interchangable barrels..one for trap, the other for skeet. Didn't handle as well as the over/unders that others were using, but for a 12 year old kid, it worked fine.

People I have met that do shoot clays seem to use Perrazzis (sp?) or Berettas.

I love trap shooting... good times and very relaxing actually because you get so focused and can't think of anything else.

I have a mossberg 590 pump shottie more for home defense but it's definitely challenging to try and trap shoot with it. And then I have a Remington 1100 for normal trap use. Probably pickup an O/U or old school double barrel for my next purchase.

I've shot clays a number of times for fun - by this I mean I stink at it. But, it seems like I do a lot better/worse depending on the balance of the gun I use. FWIW, I personally like the Beretta guns the best. My father has a very nice over/under 12ga that I steal as often as possible.

Cool to see so many shooting for relaxation.
So far I have looked at Guns all over the map.
Verona Sporting Triple (20ga/28Ga/410) Over and Under
Ithica SKB 605 Trap
Berreta Tecknys Gold and 682-687
Kolar 12 ga O/U
Browning Cynergy..
Browning 525

I am really thinking about the Verona, 3 different guns and balanced for Skeet/Clays/Traps

Perrazi and Kriegoff (Major Dollars)I would love either, I already have too many bad habits.

Ithaca. The old factory is a few miles from where I live. They just auctioned off everything about two weeks ago.

Try shooting skeet with a spas-12. the thing is VERY heavy but fun 9 shot auto.

I've got the ol' reliable Remington 870... We carry them at work so I bought the same model. Offers a little extra challenge going after the clays. You semi-auto guys have it easy!! :)

A buddy has a $2500 Bennelli. Can shoot 9 rounds before the first shell hits the ground.

I have no idea. It's a pretty serious setup though. Don't know much about Benellis, just that they are really nice. He used to do some competition up in South Dakota, so it may be worked a little.
