Noticing the number of NSX owners with bikes. To me my 99 T is the closest thing to being on the bike. But we all know, there is NO substitute for a sportbike....NONE. But driving the NSX is a nice 2nd.

Week 3 with the Spa Yellow 99 NSX -T

Is there any other car that takes you there?

Cheers

Um.. i am a former owner of two R6s.. and other sports bike..

i dont think any car would even come close to a bike. Bike = ultimate freedom.. and the feeling of that you dont give a F..

cars just different.. heavy and slow, dont give you a skip in heart beat, like on a bike.. eg. when you get thru a sharpe decrease radius corner.. get yourself out of a mistake.

I second that. S2000 is closer to a bike than a car, especially the engine.

I am so used to high rev engine from riding my bike that I almost pick up a S2000 to accompany my bike and my NSX.

Anyway there is no substitute for a NSX.

a substitute does exist

anyone read the latest road and track... the one with the 0-100-0 tests?
take note of the ferrari enzo... the only thing they could use to do the comparison was a 900cc street bike (kawasaki zx-9r.)
if you need wind in your hair, .... turn on the vent or roll down a window.

I owned a Yamaha R6 before my purchasing my NSX. I miss it. I travel the same curvy roads in my NSX and it's a blast. I don't think anything beats a bike for that open and free feeling you get. I've been thinking of getting the new Yamaha R1. It looks so nice in the new grey color Yamaha introduced.

OK S2000, I would have to agree...

Its so much like a Bike in that you BETTER pay attention...and in the wet. ..Oh yeah, like a bike.

Cheers!

chudson,

Could a larger man fit on the RC51 comforatably? Larger being 6'4 tall and 220lbs?

If not, is there modifications that will allow one to adapt? New seat? Lower the pegs?

Thanks for any replies.

Sure

Sorry Edwardo,
Been out riding most of the weekend. We have four RC's that ride in our group. Two of the guys were over 6' and have no problems. The bike has so much torque, it will get you out the hole. I have rearsets on mine that set them up and back about an inch. I'm 5'11 175lbs and they are very comfortable for me.

P.s. Also look on www.rc51.org (another club I belong to). THere is alot of info on the bike

Ahhh... RC51... I crashed one of the first ones to ever hit the market, back in August 2000. Nearly fatal crash, therefore, no more motorcycles for me. I must say though, in the 11 days that I owned it, it proved to be quite a piece of machinery. I sure do miss it.

Chudson,

Thank you for the response. It would seem that I 'could' fit on one of the RC51's. However, I think I may not be comforatable at all on one of these race bikes.

I began looking at the Honda VFR. Wow! Now that bike looks like it might fit me better. It has higher handle bars, lower footpegs, and a larger/cushier seat. It looks phenomenal as well.

For some strange reason, I ended up looking at the Honda Valkyrie after thirty or so minutes of looking at motorcycles. Talk about a 180 degree difference from the RC51. Some versions of the Valkyrie weigh over 700lb's! That thing looks like you could ride it all day and all night though.

One thing I concluded is that I would like to own a Honda motorcycle. I would have to find a phenomenal deal on another brand to not go with a Honda.

been there

Hey Edwardo,

The vfr800 (98) was the first bike I actually bought. I been riding off and on for ten years, but always borrow my brothers bikes. SO, I had one to ride all the time. I loved that bike, but I needed something else to run with the big guys....so after 1 year, sold it, and got a CBR900RR (99). Now that was a Bike until I got the RC.

It was a tough decision on the bikes in the begining. But, made up the mine to do more sport riding instead of cruising for now.
