Greetings from Seattle..

after a recent service , and complete inspection , it was note spool valve just starting to leak and noted very small concern
what is this ??
is the labor involved complex ?
I was told there are two , they told me the price , however thats not my concern , just interested in what this is , and the actual labor involved , like do they have to pull the motor or is it a chip shot..(20k miles)
Thanks for your help . hey its actually been very sunny here in Seattle !!
Thanks again ,,Ken

I had my rear spool valve done with both gaskets at the price of $100 labor included at a Acura Dealership.

The spool valves control the VTEC operation. They are basically valves that route oil into the VTEC system to engage the higher cam lobes.

This is not that uncommon. The engine does not have to be removed. They are located on each cylinder head (2) on the left side.

There is no major teardown involved, just unbolt them and replace all the gaskets (2 per valve)
