I went today with Tony (NSX1) and his wife to a local Exotic Dealership (no names). I saw several nice cars...but not impressed by many!!! Here's my list:
Ferrari 355s (most were spyders):
-Crappy interior! Very cheap looking...nothing was uniform at all. A/C on the center console, cheesy radio, shifter in a bad location, clutch was hard, gas pedal mounted to floor kinda sucked...could only imagine having to drive it like that...
The exterior of that car is BEAUTIFUL!! Hands down my favorite Ferrari from the exterior (and i WILL own one one day!) I don't like the door handle location though!! Too confusing for passengers! They can hardly find the handles on my NSX!!
Lamborghini Diablo(s):
Not very impressed by them either. Interior looks better than the 355, but I don't like the seats! They look VERY uncomfortable!! The craftsmanship is poor as well! I pointed out some crappy paint work on the hood to a salesman asking "was it in a wreck??" Also noticed some poor panel alignment and crummy paint (peely looking...distorted reflection!). Still a great car and I hope one day to either DRIVE or OWN one, but just to go fast and show off
Shelby Series 1:
Beautiful car from the outside. Kinda looked likea Corvette from the cockpit back (side angle). Back looks goooood...aggresive!! Front is nice, but I can't understand how they fit a 5.0 under the hood with that big air vent in the front!! Interior screams FORD...shifter is kinda hanging off the center console and its a BIG gear box!! Once again, interior screams FORD!
Bentley Arnage:
Nuff said...lovely car if you want to cruise with the top down and enjoy the beach or a night on the town!! I have no complaints on that car other than the price
Ferrari 360 Modena:
I wish I could swap the looks of a 355 with the interior of a 360!! Im not very impressed with the stock 360 look. Tony and I did see a 360 spyder on South Beach with a Hammond body kit/wing!! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!! He took a few pics which im sure he'll post when he returs to Missouri!
(side note: From Ft Laud. Beach to South Beach, I saw 4 360 Modena's and 0 NSXs...says something, eh???)
19?? (early 90s late 80s) Porsche Turbo:
Great looking car! Blk/Blk convertible...had something done to the engine to lay down 450hp!!!! Lenntech or something?? I don't know, I have a horrible memory!! Great car though for $45000!
Other than that, there were some other cars we saw that were nice, but those are the ones that stuck out in my mind.
At the end of the day, when I got into my NSX, I was glad I was in that than just about any other car there...I know it may sound bad, and some may disagree, but I love the age-less beauty of our "Japanese Ferrari's"
