Speedometer stuck!

has anyone else experience their speedometer sticking? i noticed today is was stuck at 29 mph on my 91 5spg with 43k miles on it. got the car up to 60-65...still stuck at 29mph. stopped, turned the car off and it still just sits at 29 mph.

i notied someone mentioned corrosion at the connection to the trans? i also saw a post re: a speed sensor.

anyone else have this problem? what was the solution?

It happened to my 1991 legend coupe ls, need a new speedo sensor thingie or something.

PS if you notice, your mileage may also not be registering!

i have to take a look at the mileage...thanx. did you do the work yourself or have a dealer do it? what was the cost?

Dealer, cost about $250-350 by my best recollection.
