Hmmm.  No one mentioned something I'd heard some time ago and that was this:  pay the ticket with a check by mail, but OVERpay it by a few bucks. 


The theory being that the county will then process your check and cut you a refund check.  Don't cash it.


The next theory being that until you cash the refund check they can't "close the loop" on the action on you, i.e., assess points on your license.


I have no idea if this is true or if it's urban legend, but for a few bucks it might be worth a try. 


I'm lucky in that driving fast where I live isn't illegal as long as you do it where it's allowed.


Good luck to you.  In the future, you might really want to obey the posted limit (or not exceed it blatantly, anyway).
