Speaker question "what's that sound"?

Hello-Everytime I turn on my radio, I get a LOAD "Pop" coming from my speaker(s). I also get a siren like nose from time to time. It sounds like a siren going up and down in volume.(very high pitch) I also have noticed that the speaker between the seats in not working. I took my NSX to a stereo shop today and they said, that they needed a speaker diagram from Bose. Does anyone know anything about the Bose system in the NSX? Is the center rear speaker tied in to anyother speakers? Does the poping and the siren sounds sound like a bad door speaker amp? Could you please contact me at [email protected]

I am guessing the popping is only coming from one speaker but it could be from any or all. Popping is one of the symptoms of failing amp(s). The on line manual here on Prime in the FAQ section - Reference has the NSX service manual, you can look up the stereo system and print out those pages for your stereo shop to look at.

I realize you are new here, so please take this advice constructively. You need to realize that there are ways you can find answers to your questions without bothering people unnecessarily.

1. If you have a question, you should only post it in one forum, not two. So you didn't need to create this topic here, and another one in the General Discussion forum.

2. You are asking about a VERY common problem. It's easy to find out about common problems without having to ask anyone, so people don't have to type in the same answers over and over again. There are two ways to do so. You can access the FAQ (answers to Frequently Asked Questions), as nsxtasy notes in that other topic. You can also do a search on previous topics by clicking on the word "search" in the other red bar above, the one that starts with "user cp".

We will be happy to help you with any problems you might have, if you try finding the answers in the FAQ and by searching and you still can't figure it out. And if you only ask once.

the whine is from you alternator... its electro magnetic interferance... you either have a REALLY crappy radio in your car or your amps hooked up dont have large enough capacitors in them to filter out this noise... the easiest thing for you to do is go to like walmart or a stereo shop and buy an inline noise filter... and even though your new and so am i use the search feature and look these things up on the internet before you ask common questions...

Having a crappy radio is not an issue in the NSX nor is interference from the alternator with the stock Bose system.

What's a "load pop"? Do you mean loud?

And I would be really annoyed if my radio caused me to get a "siren like nose" - that's gotta be embarassing with the ladies!

Having a crappy radio is not an issue in the NSX with the stock Bose system.

It might not be an "issue" but it's definitely a fact.
