Hi all,

Question 1:
I have a Deltran Battery Tender (12V6A) and wanted to know if I can permanently hook it up directly to the battery? In the (general/non-app-specific) manual, it warns in one place that the ground wire should be hooked up to the chassis, but in another place it says you can hook it up directly to the negative battery post.

Question 2:
I need to replace my spark plugs asap & would really like to get some recommendations on brand/part # and gap. My 97 NSX has forced induction (twin turbo) and runs under 8psi. I'm assuming I should use a smaller gap than stock.. Recommendations?

Also, in previous modded forced induction cars I've owned the practice has been to run a plug that's 1 step cooler -- any thoughts on that for a forced-induction NSX?

Advice is much appreciated..

Thanks,
Marc

Thanks Number9.. Time for me to search out some BKR7E plugs! Did you end up gapping them at .035" and were you happy with the results? It sounds like somewhere between .035" and .040" does the trick.

Anyone have any info re: the battery tender question?

Thanks,
Marc

NGK BKR7E-11. These are one heat range colder than stock (stock are 6, these are 7 on a scale of 2 being the hottest and 11 being the coldest). Rule of thumb is 1 heat range cooler for each 75-100hp of increase via forced induction (turbo, supercharger or N2O).

As for gap, I'm still at stock and it works great.

Sorry, can't help with the battery tender question. As for the plugs, I gapped them down to 0.040" but I haven't installed them yet because the original ones aren't showing any negative symptoms and have only 13K miles on them. For clarification, in the NGK BKR7E-11, the heat rating number is the 7 digit while the trailing 11 denotes an 0.044" gap, which is the OEM NSX gap spec and which is the closest size that sparkplugs.com seems to stock for your intended application. Sparkplugs.com can get these to you via phone/web order if you can't find them locally.
