That is at lowest setting possible. What seat/rail combo are you track folks using? FYI, I'm 6' tall with med-large build and I barely fit with the helmet on. All I'm looking for is an extra 1/2" head room. Any recommendation as to which brand sliding seat rail sits the lowest? Don't really want to replace Sparco Evo II since it fits me perfect.

Ive had the taitec rail and the buddyclub rails on Recaro SPG, NRG carbon shell, Sparco speed JR, and now a recaro SPG HANS.the buddy club rail by far sits the lowest. (the bottom of the seat actually touches the carpet) Im 6'4" almost 6'5" and I can squeak by with a helmet on with that combo.

I had to fix mount my Evo for this to work at all. Any slider made it too tall.

Do you have any pics of how you mounted it solid to the floor? What frame did you use? im thinking more and more that im going to have to do just that so I can fit a cage when the time comes

Nothing handy at the moment pics-wise. I used the Sparco base and ended up with the aluminum side mounts that are actually aluminum-colored, bolted directly to the base. The charcoal aluminum side mounts didn't allow me to get the seat low enough. I also had to grind a little bit of the fiberglass off of the rear-bottom of the seat.

Hmmm... Sounds more like a seat issue than a rail. I may have to go with a different seat or a fixed mount route :(

Actually, you might be ok with Will's setup. I assume you have a coupe. I have a targa so there's a lot more in the inner headliner than in the coupe.

Yes, it's a 91. I'll give buddy club rail a try.

A lot of height is going to depend on the L brackets that you use too attach the seat to the bracket. The BC ones come with a rather tall bracket which is fine for the front but rides a bit high in the rear.

You may need to fab something up if you're tall like me. I got a 2x2" 5/8th steel angle bracket and made my own L brackets that did not obstruct the harness belt holes and sat much lower. You can see them at the back of the seat in this pic.

Thanks for posting pics.
I'm about 5" shorter than you so I should be ok I hope...

That seat is great! But a cage in combination with the seat will be a challenge in the NSX. I also had seats with big ears, but had to switch back to my Sparco Evo's because I couldn't fit them :(

Tried buddy club but it didn't work out :(
Problem is the seat frame. It's just too wide at 17.5. Seat bottoms out on the side of the rail instead of floor.
Looks like either a new seat or a custom fixed mount is in order... Sigh
