just a quick question about spacers .I usually us my 15/16's with RA1's @ the track .I just got some 50mm spacers off a friend to space out my rears on my street wheels .I'll be doin' Laguna twice in the next three weeks and was wondering if anyone uses spacers on the track. There the H&R bolt on ones .I'm sure if they can handle the loads at the track .Any input would be appreciated.Hrant or Al ,are you guy's goin down in Sept?? Trackmasters and Green flag.

I use 22 mm spacers on all 4 wheels on my track car. No problem if you always control the bolts. But: 50 mm is huge plus if you use them only at the rear I would expect some serious handling and suspension problems. Keep in mind that you change the geometry dramatically with such big spacers - I would opt against it.

No problem on load and so forth. Racers use spacers all the time. Most big teams have a drawer full of different size spacers on their trailer.

That being said, putting a spacer will yield to more grip in most situation. Although in your case, I doubt it is any significance. Only in a properly tune race car usually you can tell the difference.

Yep we are for the TrackMasters, at least based on current plans. So will Steve Ghent from Stockton and I believe a few more (Streng from Santa Barbara, Tom King from south Bay, I believe Don Templeton will join for one of the days, Brian Butts and Kip Olson most likely as well ......).

As for the spacer question, 50 mm is a lot especially if you are doing the rears only! That would give you a lot of understeer. I run the H&R 15 mm on all four all times (street/track) and at times I wonder if going with stock set up will not make the car more nimble at the track on street tires - will need open lug nuts to test it.

50mm? That's huge!

I concur with Wolfgang...

Thanks Andrie, you're right. It say's 50 on the box but sure enough it's 2x25mm .I think there the ones SOS sells .Also just to clarify I was planning on running them front and rear .Thanks all for your input though.Looking forward to seeing you guy's in Sept.I'm only doing the Sun ,the 11th .See you in the fog !!!

I used to use 25mm front and 35mm rear on the OEM 15/16 wheels. Handled a lot better and looked better as well.

Since then I have had 17/18" new wheels made that fit the Comptech BBK in 8" front and 10" rear and therefore no need to use the spacers.

There is no problem using spacers at the track.
