Hello,

I have a metal hub ring and a 5mm H&R spacer for an aftermarket wheel, and they are really stuck on the hub (I am assuming that this was due to the heat). How should I remove them? Should I apply PB Blaster and give them some time??

Thanks..

My wheels do that! They don't have spacers or hubcentric rings...they just fit TIGHT! It can be a real bitch to get them of at times.

You can also try removing the brake calipers and caliper brackets, removing the rotor hold down screws and then using a soft face hammer/mallet to tap out the rotor. The rotor should come out with the hub ring. Spraying some penetrating oil or WD-40 around the hub may also help.

Thanks for the help, guys!

Just get a metal hammer and moderately tap around the ring and spacer. The vibration should shock it loose. If it doesn't come off by that use some good penetrating oil like torco MPZ and spray around it, let it sit and gently pry it off. It is not necessary to take the rotor off just for a hub centric ring, you have to be a moron to do all that wasted work. Just be sure to apply some anti-seize when you put the ring back on.

something funny in the way the hub is shaped. it tend to get anything that is snug to get stuck. Also the way hub usually rust make ring and spacers even harder to come out.

You'll be even dumber if you damage the hub ring when hitting it loose. It only takes minutes to take apart the brakes. Tapping the rotor will less likely cause any damage.
