Looks Fun

The Type S is owned by one of us UK people. It's a Type S as you can see, but it has been ordered with some parts that wouldn't come with a standard Type S. I don't know specifically what they are, but it has a passenger airbag for one, which wouldn't be on a standard Type S.

You know in Japan they have this 'custom order' program, where you can have what colours and spec you want. This is a car from that program.

Really HOT Type-S! :) I never understood why Honda/Acura never supplied the custom-program to the States. :(

As it was mentioned some time ago in another thread it could be because of the RHD which is the same in Japan and U.K.. Maybe it would have been too expensive to do a LHD conversion for the low demand in the "right lane" world.

The Type S in question though, is not an officially imported UK car, from Honda UK. It is a JDM private import. We do not have the option of the custom orders either.

It is easy though for us to import cars from Japan, we only have to change the lights to Euro ones, the speedo to mph, and install a rear fog light.

According to the FAQ half of the NSX's went to the United States, not forgetting the old Europe which is LHD too. The Type-S is not as special in terms of production costs as the main changes are done very quickly, other tires, other suspension. What did you get: 50 Zanardi, some of them already ruined on the track or in accidents. :( What did the Europe get: NOTHING at all. :( So what have we Europe people to do? Import the parts from Japan, congrats Honda. :( Sorry to say that, but the NSX is a completly marketing desaster in Europe. Just see how Toyota sells their Lexus brand, that's the way to go! I'm sure that the NSX would have sold better with a custom program like Leather color interieur changes or just some more options than the 3rd rear brake light. :( And what did they in 2002, just brought up the new Type-R much too late and RHD, just to attract people but you can't buy it. :( As an economist I have to say that the worst discriminiation a firm can do is not to deliver it at all. :(
AND: The NSX was a pure image project where costs didn't play a such important role than with a Civic. I believe that the management just let the NSX die after 2000 in the intention to raise profits overall. :(
Sorry for the comments but sometimes it just overcomes me.

Hope that guy was OK after ?

The NSX out lasted 3 Generations of Ferrari, and yet, the 02+ type R version can still give the 360 Modena a good run on the track. Sorry, Honda should of produce this car for 5 more years, and give it a 20 years production cycle. I would love to see the 1987 Williams Honda (1.5 liter V-6 Twin Turbo with 1000 HP) run with 2005 Ferrari F1 (3 LIter NA V-10 with 900 HP), see which one will win the race. I bet you the 1987 Williams F1 will be on par with the 18 years newer 2005 Ferrari. When a car is design right, it wil out class it's rivals for generations.
