We were off at the NSXDAYS event at SPA last weekend, some pix and our look at it is posted here It is a great event - an excerpt is below:

We line up and the green flag drops & then off we go! Before I describe the race, let me tell you what a "practice session" is like. Imagine a wheel to wheel race session with no official start where you can pass anywhere anytime and the drivers are looking in their mirrors and mostly obeying the flags. Lots of fun. Then there is the official "qualifying" session. Imagine a wheel to wheel race session with no official start where you can pass anywhere anytime and the drivers are not looking in their mirrors and may obey the flags or they may ignore them. Lots of fun too. Now the actual race; we had an official SPEEDVISION start where you can pass anywhere and the drivers are blinded by testosterone, ignoring their mirrors and the flags. REALLY lots of fun. Too bad we suck here in the USA and can't do this too. Lawyers suck. (now, before you get all worked up, some of my best friends are lawyers and they agree)

Hi Mark,
great story and good lap time for street tires (with Yoko slicks you will do 2'50s as I did there in april thanks to Dali race sway bars;) )

Your high tech solution to hold the rear hatch is very impressive...

Just a little mistake: The former DTC driver and Honda dealer(he has more NSXs than any of us) is Markus Fugel (not Flugel - although the german word "fluegel" would be okay for him too - it's "wing" in english and he's really flying sometimes with his ITRs and S2000.

I'm too cheap to spend $1220.00 for a set of slicks that will last but one weekend, and I don't have to spend time swapping from slicks to rain tires and back again every 3 hours either. :D. The S03's are still fine and we will get at least 1-2 more events out of them for $800 total. I'm glad that you liked the swaybars. :D

I knew how to spell it - I got to see it on the BACK of his cars all day :D - Detlef and I were making strudel jokes all day, and I spelled it that way on purpose:

Flugel:Shots & Shooters

Ingredients
1 part Cranberry Vodka
1 part Red Bull
1 cube Ice

Mix ingredients. Pour over a single cube of ice in a small glass. Drink like a shot and throw the ice away!

And you are right, that he flies, his ITR was very fast. (off the track sometimes too - both the ITR and S2000 were in the weeds during practice.)

We will have a few more pix up next weds. Hope to see you there next year too.

Good stuff Markus. Except I wanna see more pics!

Anyone else thinking that a "Honda Trophy" in the US would be a good idea? Something like "Viper Days."

I got a few more that will go up Weds, but not much else that shows "action".

Dismantle the US Legal system and we might have a chance to do it. In Europe people (and their relatives) believe what it says on the releases they sign, and don't look at them as an open invitation to retire on someone else's life's work.

I think its a great idea, but one that doesn't seem to take off.
Isn't the emerging "xxx Coast Honda Challenge" a start ??

Problem I've seen (at least in some regions) is that there are no (or too few) NSXs signed up for the higher spec classes. You need to get a minimum # of cars to constitute a series, and evidently we aren't there, at least not here :(
