Sound/CD question

My CDs skip very bad in the oem 97 cd player...and my cdrs dont even work

....options? I read you can 'drop' in a changer that works with mp3s...kool...my question is what/which?

I took Nina to a shop and they said the only way to do anything was to sawp the whole setup

..a little too expensive for me...

help?
