Hi, Chris,
I see that you are selling the JDM Navigition "hub" on SOS for ~$250.
Out of curiousity, what monitors would fit with this hub? I would like to get GPS Navigation, but I wouldn't mind saving money by getting the hub and a CD-ROM based system (vs. DVD-based).
By the way, what are the model and specs of the Nav system that you are offering? Is there any way that you can offer a less-expensive version (ie. CD-ROM)?
Thanks in advance.
-Thomas

Hi Thomas --

Yes, we have the display pod available due to popular request.

In general, displays up to about 7.5" and possibly 8" will fit. The key is to find one that is flat, and can be used with a remote. Unfortunately, Alpine changed the screen model we used with the GPS system, so we're investigating a new application.

The DVD based systems have not yet seen a price break. The high cost of the system is what makes the price so high. I would imagine over the next year, with the increased popularity of video electronics in cars, we will see a drop in the price.

Cheers,

I am also very interested in purchasing the navigation pod w/CD ROM based nav system.

Has there been any changing in pricing/products to cut down the price on a navigation system?

Also, how much air does the nav pod take up?
(Summers are positively brutal here)

Thanks!

Hi,
Wow, you resurrected this post from the dead! (>6 months old)!
Anyways,
I've had my CD-ROM based nav system for a while, and find it very useful.
I purchased the nav pod from SOS, and got an Alpine Nav system from eBay for around $700 (should be less by now), at the moment, I can't recall the model number, something like NVA-751 or something.
Anyways, a while back, I posted a pic of the install, but the picture didn't do it justice. In person, it looks much better.
Hope that helps. -Thomas
