SoS coolant expansion tank issue

I just received my SoS coolant expansion tank and had the dealership (Acura of Brookfield) install it. Had a leaking issue right away, due to the sight hose not being seated properly (apparently). An hour and a half later and after the AOB mechanics talked with the SoS folks briefly, they got it installed properly, at least I thought it was. Drove the car home late in the day on Friday where it sat up until about a half hour ago. I figured I'd take it for a short drive to see if there were any leaking issues...we'll, as I feared, the freaking site hose leaks!!

Here is my question...has anyone else purchased the new SoS tank with the sight tube? If so, any issues with leaking? And if so, how did you fix it. I'm going to contact SoS tomorrow and get their take on this, but I wanted to see what experiences others have had. I have to say I'm pretty disappointed right now...hopefully that will change soon. :frown:

When I first saw the design I was wondering how well it would work, the push lock fitting they are using work well in a single ended setup. With them back to back the pull on the hose that locks and seals is just not there. A better design might be to move the fittings to the side of the tank facing rearward and make a half circle of hose.

I made a post on the original thread, I use these fitting at work on High speed machines that run 24 hours a day, they are very reliable. I'm not sure, but it looks like they are a swivel fitting. If so, try taking one of the fitting off push the tube all the way in at both ends of the tube, then pull back to lock the tube ends. Then screw the fitting back in. Also there is some movement in them, thats normal. You will notice that the ring where the tube fits is loose, if you need to remove the tube, press the tube in firmly at the same time press the ring in, while holding the ring down pull the tube out. Hope this helps!
