Someone stole my Acura front emblem !!!

It was a nice sunny day today, so I decided to take my NSX and my girl friend to shopping and lunch in Oakland. I went into Pacific Coast Shopping Center (in Richmond) for about an hour. When I finished lunch and come back to pick up my car, I saw four 18-22 years old kids looking at my car and I believe they are driving a fix-up Integra. I don't pay attention to them and just drive my car home. After I parked my car in the garage, I found out my Acura front emblem is missing and with scratches in my front bumper!!! I couldn't believe someone will do that??? How stupid to stole Acura NSX emblem and put that into their car?

I called the Acura dealer and they told me the Acura emblem is $90!! , but the 2002 NSX emblem was only $15? I would easily replace the emblem, but hard to remove these scratches.

I just want to warn other NSX owner who will drive their car to this shopping center to be careful and watch their car.

I think you can order one on ebay for about $20 to $30 bucks....and you can choose the color you like...maybe it's time to change the color
hopefully...they didn't scratch your frount pumper when they steal your emblem...

I believe the 02 emblem setup differs in that it has 2 screws going into the hood.

If you have nosemask, put it on. The emblem will be out of sight and out of mind. It will be hard to remove the emblem unless they cut the nosemask.

This is not correect - both emblems fix by the same method with 2 pins intended to protrude through corresponding holes in the bumper, secured by clips on the underside. However the pin/hole locations are different for 02+, therefor the emblem will not fit directly on a pre '02.

The solution is to just cut off the pins completely, flush with the base & use the secondary attachment, the double sided tape it comes already applied with. This is more than adequate to secure it by itself. Simply align the "legs" of the "A" to cover the original holes in the bumper.

The problem in ac011's case might be in trying to hide the scratches - the '02 is an open frame design, not a solid block like the old one i.e. more bumper exposed rather than covered up.

Look on the bright side (???) perhaps this is step one of a total Honda conversion? The NSX looks good with a [H] on the front.

go to www.procarparts.com, type emblem into the search box, you will see all kind of emblems and different color..
isn't it a good news for you?

These emblems seem to be different then the OEM? maybe they are not made by Honda? But their price is very cheap compare to Acura dealer and Dali Racing...
