Board members have come up with great, cheap fixes for all sorts of common NSX issues. The "frozen ABS unit cylinder" problem is also a very common issue, and very expensive to fix via new parts. If the bleeder, brake on ice or other tricks to unfreeze them wont work, you are kinda stuck. I'm surprised no enterprising NSXP member has figured out
how to rebuild them. Seems like it would be no harder than
a master cylinder, or am I simplifying it?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but the problem with the ABS unit is that there are some rubber seals inside the unit, which overtime don't seal properly.
I have never seen the unit in bits, but i wonder if you can get the seals at all.
I'm not afraid to have a go at it, but for the moment mine is still about oke with the seals. When it fails completely, i will have a go at it.

But i'm sure someone has done it before, and has ended up with a good fix, or maybe buying a new one.

If someone sends me one of their "bad" units, I'll take it apart and check it out.

I will be glad to be your huckleberry, but will have to wait until October....you have to get out and enjoy our 3 months of decent weather here in Seattle....;)

Here's a potentially stupid question- will the brakes operate without the ABS pump- in otherwords, can you bypass it easily? I have the relay out of it anyways.

Thanks for the offer, but…no, the brakes will not work with the unit out unless some significant modification to the brake lines is done. I think we’d be looking for a spare module that can be dissected rather than returned operable and fixed.
