I would appreciate it if someone on here would comment if they have had this problem that I'm experiencing right now.

OEM clutch: clutch feels stiffer at start of car and after 10 minutes on the free way, the clutch feels noticeably softer. After getting off the freeway, it's stiffer again. Sometimes this all happens during in-town driving as well.

I originally thought it was my slave cylinder that needed replacing, but I have cautiously monitored the fluid level and it has been at a constant full mark; so I don't believe it's the cylinder.

any help would be appreciative.

thanks

juejaimon,

Typically you will accumulate clutch dust due to wear on the clutch. It does not seem to be heat related, but more use related. It could be this, although it does not seem to be a common thing. I have a few questions:

Miles on the car?

Describe the car year/etc.

Did you purchase it recently? Is this a new car to you or have you had it many years?

Let's see if you get some additional responses on this.

Also does it "shudder"?

Larry- thanks for the response.

This is a 91 NSX that currently has 44k miles on it. I purchased it a little over a year ago. To my knowledge, it has the original oem clutch in it. It does not shudder.

Sorry to say, but you would have to pull the trans if that is your problem, which will always yield to a clutch replacement.

IT may be that the throw out bearing sleeve is coated with the dust, but it is the same situation, you need to pull the trans to address it.
