SoCal Drive

I'm driving from LA to Virginia in late-November. My goal is to make this as fun as possible.

I'm looking for those twisting coastal roads that I always see in ads and movies . . . there is a cliff (with no guard rail) and then a rocky beach down below . . .

My goal is to trek up/down the coast for a day or two, and then head east on I-40.

Any suggestions or preferred routes for the beginning of this trek?

highway 1 will be the road you are looking for. this road can go on for hundreds of miles. but you may just wanna take the short one. from somewhere around LA to OXnard then back to LA.
