So I added a lip on my Marga Hills Front Bumper

I wanted to lower the car more but because of my front spacers, lowering it means the front tires will rub like crazy. So I decided to add a lip but there are no aftermarket lips available for the front marga hills bumper. So my friend showed me his set-up and I went to home depot.. YES home depot.. hahaha. The lip cost me $15-20 and 1 hour of my time.

Here are some pics..

I gotta fix that small gap but you can hardly see it really..

All I needed was double-sided tape (industrial strength), and a rubber weather strip for garage doors. This lip should also help minimize scrapes on my front bumper.

This was my first time so I want to redo it again. There's a part where the lip bent inward because I pulled it too much. My friends didn't notice it but since I will have to remove the lip by tomorrow because of the clear-bra install, might as well redo the whole thing.

I'm glad I did it, and it looks like an OEM lip.. Hope you guys like it too.

Looks great!

I've always liked MH designs, and had the Vinnie skirts on my car 2 years ago. How'd you like the fitment?

Nice work, looks sweet!

Just a note, that double side tape likes to come off when it gets wet. The moisture hardens the adhesive and it loses it's grip. I found another thread like yours on a different site that uses screws, spaced 1in. apart to hold it in place. The screws are nicely hidden. Here are some pics:

Yeah me too man. The only bumper I really wanted for the car ever since. Although now, I'm really liking the fixed-headlights and the cantrell bumper to go along with it.. hmmmm.. hehehe.

The fitment of the MH front bumper is actually pretty nice. Way better than I was expecting. All I heard from this site regarding these bumpers is how terrible the fitment was. My body shop thought it wasn't too hard to fit. He had to cut some pieces by the headlights but that was about it. Overall, I'm very happy with the fitment and look of it.

The TCRC skirts are also great, very minor work that had to be done, and it uses stock clips.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know about double-sided tape looses grip when it gets wet. I plan on putting some screws in but I don't think I will do the 1inch gap trick. That's a lot of screws.. hahaha.

I really want to lower the car more, I hate the gap between my front fender and tires. I have the bilstein shocks and H&R spring so I got about 1/4 inch way to go. But I'm really scared that I won't be going anywhere. Its not the bumper I'm worried about, its the skirts because they're really low. I should've just sticked with wings-west skirts.. =)

I'm glad you guys liked the lip.. Its off now, took me about 1 hour to remove the double-sided tape and I broke a piece of my nail. lol.. Can't wait to install it again..

When you said Home Depot, I had flash backs to High School. These 3 guys I know went to Home Depot and installed Rain Gutters backwards as sideskirts....on a Prelude, Integra, and Mustang GT!!!

But your lip actually looks really nice.

I realy like it. Looks good.

Hey Nim, you interested in some sort of trade for my WW sides? I'm local here in the bay too :)

Oh man, yes they are low. I used to hit speed bumps with my TCRCs when I had 15/16 wheels... after 17/18 and 18/19 the problem went away

This works out great. I wanted to put a lip on the IS300 and the after market ones were to big. The stock doesn't come with one and it seems naked to me lol.

Thanks for the DIY:biggrin:

It's cool for the time being but you'll end up taking it off later. I contemplate whether I should take mine off because it cheapens the feel of the car and my car is just a regular Subaru, not the world-renowned NSX!

Here's mine. It's been holding strong for almost 2 years!
