So, being a hybrid Canadian-American, I have experienced terrible snow and weather on both sides of the border in the NSX.....but I have to ask one question...are Canadians the only ones who know how to drive in the snow?
We currently live in Indianapolis, Indiana and over the last couple of days there has been a huge cafuffle on the news, at work, by the water cooler, and in the bathrooms, about some 'blizzard' and 'record snow storm' that we are supposed to be getting today. People are buying huge quantities of food, milk, bread, snow shovels and snow blowers....you would think we were getting 10 feet of snow like New York just did. I mean, it has been all over the televison.
People I work with started ribbing me yesterday about my NSX (since I drive it all year round) and saying, 'How do you think YOU are getting to work tomorrow in that thing (ha-ha-ha),' and then they follow it up with how they are glad they have SUV's and trucks and how my little sports car will be stuck in the garage. Well, I sit here today as THE ONLY ONE who showed up for work in my department. THE ONLY ONE!! My NSX is parked in the parking lot with snow on it, and NONE of my co-workers are here. On the way in there were vehicles all over the highway, smashed into barriers, smashed into each other, a black Chevrolet Equinox flew off the side of the highway for no apparent reason other than the driver was a moron. Seriously....people were everywhere!!
What shocks me is that in Canada this would not be anything. I have had snow OVER the roof top of my NSX before up in Barrie. In Canada there would be no news warnings, no mass hysteria, no huge lines at the grocery store....no big deal. Total accumulation was between 4 to 8 inches here depending which side of town you live on. In Canada, that is a dusting. Nothing of note. Here...it is an emergency panic!! I swear....Americans cannot drive in the snow....at least not in Indiana.
For all you that are wondering...the NSX did great. With a couple more inches of ground clearance it would have been perfect, but oh well. So do something fun to tick off a co-worker today....get snow tires for your NSX and teach that sissy down in Accounting with the SUV that you can get to work and have more fun than they can.
