This forum is merely a part of a much greater whole known as "NSX Prime". Another part of NSX Prime is the FAQ - where you will find extensive coverage of topics such as the snap ring.

IMO the best, most complete advice on what to do if you have a car in the snap ring range was stated by Mark Basch and re-posted in the NSXprime forums, here.

New tranny is around $7K. I'm not sure about a used tranny - maybe $2K? Just guessing.

However, keep in mind that there's no need to replace the transmission just because a car is in snap ring range. Just become familiar with Mark B's description of the symptoms. If the snap ring starts to go, don't continue driving on it; take it in and have the snap ring and transmission case replaced. MUCH less expensive than replacing the entire transmission.

nsxtasy,
oh, I get it now..I just need to have the case replaced...and not the whole tranny. Got thatnks man! and how much does the case cost should I need to replace it. Thanks so much buddy.

Regards,

Dave
