I got a 'smog test only' needed in my last DMV renewal, and called a number of shops to have it done today as I had the day off. None of the more local stations had any openings, so I made
an appointment at one a bit south, and when I got there they said 3 tests were in front of me, it would be an hour and a half.
I got on the phone and found Jorge's Smog at 740 Sierra Vista
in Mt.View (650-969-3211). I think it's a brand new, very small, shop that only does the 'test only'. I have CompTech Carb legal
headers, ( and a CompTech chipped ECU- but don't tell anyone).
Jorge had me a bit concerned as he didn't know where the engine was, but was very carefull backing my car onto the dyno.
I passed well within limits, but he still needed to record the Ca.exemption numbers from the headers which I didn't have, so
he was nice enough to crawl under the car and get it off the emblem welded to the headers. He charges $80.
