About a month ago I replaced the OEM pads (what was left of it) with Axxis Ultimate pads (from Dali Racing). I'm still using the OEM rotors, not slotted and not drilled.
My brakes now feel grabbier than before and I like to brake late and hard. So, today, I was taking anothere route home just for the fun of it. At some stage I was doing some pretty quick driving for a while and noticed a distint smell coming from the front of the car. I suspect it's my brakes/brakepads which by then had heated up quite a bit. I wasn't experiencing fade or anything but I smelled it just the same. I took it a bit easier after that and the smell dissappared. The brakes still work ok.
The question is if this is something typical of the Axxis pads or not and if not, if I might have a problem somehow.
Pads have been on the car now for about 1600 km/1000 miles.
